Information for Parents

  • We provide structured swimming lessons for children of all abilities
  • Class sizes for each teacher average:
    • 3 – 4 for beginners
    • 4 – 6 for improvers
    • 6 – 8 for advanced students
  • Our teachers are in the water with the class for all beginners
  • We provide instruction for pupils with additional learning needs
  • A teacher helper may also be available
  • Lessons span from 30 – 45 minutes long
  • Each block of courses runs for 10 weeks
  • We allow for 2 missed/re-­‐scheduled lessons per 10 week course for pupilabsences (e.g. sickness, holidays, etc.)
  • Your child will receive an award at the end of each 10 week course, enablingyou to monitor his/her progress
  • Our qualified teachers are dedicated to improving water confidence andstroke techniques
  • Children’s swimming confidence and techniques are developed through fungames and play
  • It is vitally important to us that your child feels safe and comfortable in thewater. We allow him/her to develop confidence at his/her own pace
  • We recognise that all children develop at different rates and we may movechildren to different classes with your agreement
  • For advanced swimmers we focus on stroke correction as well as distanceattainment. We also include survival swimming.
  • We provide Splash Classes for Parents and Babies/Toddlers

Our Awards System

Each child receives an award at the end of each 10-­‐week course, which enables you to monitor your child’s progress.

We have compiled an awarding system that uses a combination of both the STA and ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) awards to allow your child to progress at their own pace.
